I had the same problem after installing the OS X 10.4.3 8f1111 patched with Wesley's patch. The issue for me was that the default display is set as external, meaning that you aren't really freezing -- the computer is just displaying the desktop on the external monitor, one that you do not have conneted. To fix this problem, reboot manually with power button and attach an extra monitor -- it takes a few tries for me to get it running right, and it is a pain in the a**. I am running it on an HP Pavilion DV1440 US.

It's a notebook so maybe if you aren't running on a notebook that isn't your issue, but if you are, I would bet that it is.

Sorry if this information doesn't apply to you or is wrong, it just sounds EXACTLY like what I experienced on my notebook.

Let me know if I did something wrong to get this or if there is something I am supposed to do, or if the version of the install I got with Wesley's crack is bad!
